Two Early Digital Nature Journals 2006 and 2020

Two of My First Digital Nature Journals 2006 and 2020 Both Multiple Pages Long

I will be adjusting how I upload previously written Journals. I will be changing the way they were formatted and saved as pdf files to allow me to split the full pages into smaller sections.
Some NJ's I improved with this modification has made them much easier to read with more zoomed in views of the images.

Thanks for visiting this BLOG
Randy Puckett

Both of these were greatly influenced by two visits to Ossabaw Island trips in 2004 and 2006.
You will see why this is a special place.

My first Digital Nature Journal was this Boneyard poem I created in 2006 after my two visits to Ossabaw Island. The first was in 2004 for a summer class in Science education. I returned in 2006 after my first year as a full time teacher with other educators for just Nature personal experience.

Thank you Dr. Claudia Melear for the Ossabaw adventures which had myself and other students immersed in Nature, an introduction to Nature Journaling, field science research, and so much more camping in this unique and beautiful coastal barrier island.

Thank you Dr. Susan Groenke for asking me to be a guest instructor with your 2006 summer Master's level English Education Poetry class. The Boneyard technology poem was an example I created to show your students how to combine free verse nature poetry, sketching, and photography using Power Point.

I used the Boneyard pictures and sketches during my Environmental Science classes as writing prompts. So many of my High School students enjoyed writing their own poems from these visuals. I will be posting this 2022 modified lesson on the blog soon.

To better view each of the images or sections of the Nature Journals below,  just left click on one and it will appear enlarged and in a galley view. Use the directional arrows or swipe to scan forward or back. Hit escape to come back to the page view.

THE BONEYARD by Randy Puckett 2006

TREES NJ was my first multiple page thematic NJ written in 2020. My thinking to share and save this image heavy large file was to convert the full 8-1/2 X 11 Letter sized Apple Pages document into PDF files that would make them smaller files. I also thought PDF documents are almost universally readable. The Google Blogger program has not allowed me to upload PDF files. The full page screenshot's of each page were too large to view easily.

This NJ was modified in the formatting from full pages into split pages with 2 to 4 per page. This helps them be easier to see and read in the Gallery view of this Blog.

I hope you enjoy reading my creative writing and selected famous tree quotes. And viewing the images of my brothers and sisters the
