Water Nature Journals and Water Scenic Photographs

 Water Water Everywhere

I learned to swim with my Father Taz and older brother Joel in the Little River not far from where I grew up outside Maryville, Tennessee.

After a warmer weather hike, Randy so loves to just take off his socks and boots and soak his feet in a cold mountain stream. I often take a folding chair, a sketchbook, colored pencils and pens, and other drawing materials and sit and draw a water and stream side scene as I reflect on how blessed I am to live near the mountains of East Tennessee.

During stressful times from life's negative issues I will usually go for a hike along my favorite Smoky Mountain Middle Prong stream to work through these personal problems and often begin my healing from these.

On some of my camping and backpacking adventures over the years a good cold "bath" in a river or lake is so refreshing to me.

I also enjoy flat water kayaking on many of the reservoirs, rivers, and lakes found in East Tennessee. Just scroll on down and quietly and softly paddle along with me during some water times!

Turmoil to Peace

A Water Themed Zen and Native American Spirituality Reflection NJ to sooth my soul

A  Reflective Nature Journal (NJ) during some personal times of difficult changes in my life. As usual I returned to the Smokies and one of favorite reflective hiking places to walk along the Middle Prong Trail next to the river which  is upstream of the Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont.

A view of the French Broad River below Douglas Dam from a TVA campsite with two good friends. This was part of the beginning of my Summer of 2021 retirement lifestyle adventures and journeys I would be doing.

This was a sunrise view with the morning fog still arising from the water. I knew brightness in my life was ahead, but also I would have some "foggy" times where I would not be able to see exactly where I was going.

Taking each day as special for the moment in time and rejoice I was out in Nature as much as I would be able to do this summer and into the fall of 2021.

  1. More stunning images, and thoughts I'm going to have to ponder on to digest. You are very fortunate to have the natural world around you that you do, as it clearly provides both a concrete and also abstract/metaphorical expression of deep and complex thoughts and feelings.
